There's only one way to settle it.

Same dates. Same metrics. No sharing flight logs. Create a battle, send the code to a course mate or a friend at another school, and see who's really been flying more, round by round. Hosting a battle is part of Pro; anyone can join one for free, so one Pro member can battle anyone.

  • Standard battle, 9 rounds: flights, hours, landings, share of days flown, longest break, longest streak, solo hours, airports visited and longest flight
  • Velocity battle, 7 rounds on pace: flights and hours per week, share of days flown, busiest week, average gap, longest break and days since your last flight
  • Any window: the last 7, 30 or 90 days, 6 months or all time, and one base or all of them
  • Fair: the result is locked in when your opponent joins, and near-identical values count as a draw
  • Rematch with one click, and your opponent gets the invite by email

  • A score out of 100, the average of training consistency, flight frequency and flight hours, each scored against everyone who flew that month
  • A podium for the top three, and last month's winners on show
  • Badges for flying every week, never going a week without flying, ten-flight months, 20-hour months, early starts, long flights and more
  • Your final rank by email at the start of each month
  • Opt out at any time, and only your username, school and monthly totals are shown

Compare yourself with your whole school.

Every pilot who picks a flight school in their settings counts towards that school's anonymised statistics: the same averages as a group, across everyone. At a school without a built-in syllabus, you're compared with everyone on your course.

  • Shown once at least 5 pilots at the school have logged flights
  • Aircraft flown by just one pilot are grouped as "Other"
  • Your own figures are never shown to anyone

Battle Mode & groups FAQ

Is Battle Mode free? ▼
Joining battles, the monthly leaderboard and training groups are all free. Creating a battle (and rematches) is part of PilotMetrics Pro, so one Pro member can battle anyone.
Can my opponent see my flights? ▼
No. The battle is worked out on our server and only each round's totals are shown: never your individual flights, dates, routes or instructors.
Can I battle a pilot at a different school? ▼
Yes. Battles, the leaderboard and groups work across schools and courses. Anyone with a PilotMetrics account and your battle code can join.
Who can see a training group? ▼
Only its members: you join a group with its code. Members see the group's averages and counts. In a very small group, members could work out each other's figures from the totals, so only join groups with people you're happy to compare with.
